MoMo event was held on 20th February, 2012 at CIIT Wah campus as per schedule. Around 100 Students and Faculty members from Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments attended this event. Members of MoMo team as well as undergraduate students of CIIT Wah campus presented their ideas and research projects at the event. The participants highly appreciated the presentations and participated actively in discussions. The senior faculty and the industry representatives regarded the projects as highly promising for society and gave their valuable feedback for further improvements.
The program concluded with an interactive session lead by Dr. Mahmood Ashraf that emphasised on brainstorming research ideas among young students for their Final Year Projects. The participants of the event appreciated the initiative of MoMo platform for linkage between academia and industry. Dr. Mahmood Ashraf also proposed to establish a Mobile Application group at CIIT Wah Campus on the same footing as in Islamabad Campus.
The event ended with the vote of thanks to the administration of CIIT Wah for providing facility to hold MoMo Event. Director of Wah campus Dr. Tayyeb Akram appreciated the efforts of the MoMo team and stressed his faculty for future coordination in this regard.

Mobile Monday (MoMo) event was held on Monday 23rd January, 2012 in the Faculty Cafeteria, CIIT, Park Road, Islamabad. More than 80 participants (Faculty and students) participated in the event.
The main theme of this event was the launch of Mobile Applications Group. Mr. Ahsan Malik gave a presentation about the importance of Mobile application development in the current era and emphasis on the Creation, Management, Distribution as well as the extension of mobile applications. A computer lab at CAST department is dedicated for this group.
Later on Mr. Muhammad Ahmed who belongs to pioneer batch of Comsats and director of Syntacx Company based in Islamabad highlighted the important areas in mobile application industry. He agreed on providing full support to the Faculty as well as the students by arranging different training sessions as well as providing all the development tools necessary for mobile application development.
Dr. Mahmood Ashraf (Director CAST) concluded the session by saying that Mobile Monday is a platform to generate ideas therefore all the students as well as the faculty should give their ideas about mobile applications so that we could be able to build applications according to the need of the common people.

Mobile Monday (MoMo) Event held yesterday (21st Nov) in faculty cafeteria. More than 100 participants from academia and Industry were present in the event.
Dr. Mahmood Ashraf highlighted the achievements through MoMo events at the start of the event. Later, an opening talk was given by Mr. Willie Eerola on Mobile Advertising. He stressed the importance and new business opportunities in this sector. Another presentation on topic “Mobile Advertising (Potential and Opportunities)” was given by Syed Abdul Mannan Kirmani. The final presentation on Mobile Phone Recycling was delivered by Mr. Khurram Shahzad. The re-cycling of old mobile phone Campaign was also inaugurated by Mr. Eerola.
The Closing Remarks were given by Dr. Shahid A. Khan Dean Faculty of Engineering and he thanked Mr. Willie Eerola for coming to Pakistan and guiding us in different areas.
The event was supported by some skates related to Mobile Advertising which amused the participants. Dr. Raheel Qamar Dean ORIC presented MoMo shield and Bouquet of flowers to Mr. Willie Eerola.

Next Mobile Monday (MoMo) event has been scheduled on 21st Nov’ 2011 in the faculty cafeteria, COMSATS Institute of IT (CIIT), Park Road, Islamabad. The program will start at 3 PM. The theme for this MoMo meeting is “Mobile Advertising”.
Mr. Wille Eerola, CEO of Riddes Corporation from Finland will also join this event. Senior Managers from Telecom Industry and faculty from academia are also invited for this event.

This month MoMo event was held at CIIT Lahore on Monday 17th Oct, 2011. Faculty members from EE, CS and Management Science departments attended this event. Dr. Mahmood Bodla, Director of the campus was also present in the event. Staring through interactive session the participants were briefed about the importance of this event and the success stories of previous MoMo events were shared with them. Some presentations from MoMo team and graduate students of CIIT Lahore campus were also given in the event.
The participants of the event appreciated this plate form and understood the importance of linkage between academia and industry.
In the afternoon Dr. Mahmood Ashraf conducted a workshop with Ph.D. faculty of EE and CS department on “Writing a successfull Research Proposal”. Different international funding organization that can be tapped for funding were also elaborated to them in this workshop.
At the end of the event, the MoMo team thanked for the arrangements made by the Dr. Bodla, Dr. Saleem Farooq and his team at EE department.

MoMo event held yesterday (19th Sept, 2011) at faulty cafeteria CIIT Islamabad campus. Faculty/ students from academia and experts from Telecom industry attended this event. More than 120 participants attended this event.
A PhD scholar of EE Department gave presentation of his research work which was appreciated by experts from Nokia-Siemens, Erricson, Huawei, HEC, Ufone and NTC. Few final year projects from EE department were presented in the event. The projects related to mobile industry were of excellent nature and with slight modification could become a useful application for mobile industry. All the participants appreciated the projects and also encouraged the MoMo Event. The Project Director of Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), also gave short presentation and briefed some projects that were successfully converted to industry.
In the concluding remarks, the experts from industry expressed their gratitude to Dean Engineering, Dean Computer Science, and other senior faculty who were present during this event for providing this plate form which provide linkage between academia and Industry.
